In the Aṃśāvataraṇa (Amsavatarana) adhyāya (adhyaya; episode) of Mahābhārata (Mahabharata) , one Arka is mentioned. In his previous birth he had been a great Dānava (Danava; son of Danu). During the time of the Pāṇḍava(s) (Pandava), he was reborn as a Rājarṣi (Rajarshi; a king with the attributes of a sage) called Ṛṣika (Rishika).
