Amarka was one of the sons of Śūkrācārya (Sukracharya), guru of the Daitya(Demons). He taught Prahlāda(Prahlada), son of Hiraṇyakaśipu (Hiranyakasipu) and other Asura-boys about Daṇḍanīti (Dandaniti; codes of law and administration).
