Ṛṣabha (Rishabha) is a sacred tīrtha (tirtha; pilgrimage -site) located on the bank of the river Sarasvatī (Saraswati). The place is known as Ṛṣabhadvīpa (Rishabhadwipa; the island called Rishabha). It may be thought that this place, located very close to Kurukṣetra (Kurukshetra), may be a river-island located in the bosom of the the river Sarasvatī (Saraswati).
