Ūrṇāyu(Urnayu) is one of the Mauneya Gandharva( a kind of demi-gods). He is one of the children born of the womb of Muni, sired by Prajāpati (Prajapati; Ruler of the People) Kaśyapa (Muni). As the son of Muni, he is known as Mauneya. It is said in the Purāṇas(Purana; Mythical Scriptures) that in the season of Hemanta ( late autumn), he , along with the other Gandharvas called Āditya(Aditya) and Citrasena (Chitrasena), stays in the chariot of the Sun-god.
