Adrija is one prominent ethnic clan among others who participated in armed conflict against Bhīma (Bhima) and Arjuna, with the support of Aśvatthāmā (Ashwatthama), son of Droņa (Drona), and Duryodhana.

A warring tribe, Adrija is usually mentioned together with the Yaudheya tribe (who also appear to be a warring clan). Adri means hills. Supposedly, they are a tribe belonging to the highlands or the hilly regions. Scholars opine that during Alexander’s invasion the clan Adrija or Adraistai inhabited the region of Bari Doab, lying east to the river Ravi or Hydraotes. They acknowledged the supremacy of Alexander’s army. Their principal haven was Pimprom.
