Agnijvāla is one of the thousand and eight names of Śīva (Shiva). In Purāṇas (Purana) and Mahābhārata (Mahabharata), Śiva and Agni have often been envisaged as one and the same entity. Thus Śiva has been honored with the name Agnijvāla to convey that He is a representative form of Agni, or has the same burning power as Agni.
