A river mentioned in Bhīṣmaparva (Bhishmaparva) of Mahābhārata (Mahabharata). It is possible that the river flows through the southern part of India. The river Anaṅgā (Ananga) is mentioned in Padmapurāṇa (Padmapurana) too, after Śuktimatī (Shuktimati) River, and the primary verse of Mahābhārata remains nearly unchanged here. Only the text of Padmapurāṇa reads Śuktimatī as ‘Muktimatī’ (Muktimati).
